South Bend Heavy 10 Toolroom Lathe Just Arrived!
We recently acquired a nice little 10″x 26″ South Bend Heavy 10 Toolroom Lathe that is loaded with tooling and options. It came out of a small machine shop and has been well maintained.
It was built new in 1965 by South Bend and has hardened bedways, taper attachment, 3 jaw chuck, 5C lever collet closer, steady rest, milling attachment, most of a lever cross slide compound, quick change toolpost set, live center and drill chuck. It also has an attachment that we have never seen before and is very rare. And that is the Super Fine Feed Detail Attachment.

Perfect Lathe for Gunsmiths!
These South Bene Heavy 10 toolroom lathes are very popular with gunsmiths and do an exceptional job. Besides what was previously mentioned, it has a D1-4 Camlock Spindle and the 1-3/8″ spindle bore, a micrometer stop, thread dial and tailstock. It is mounted on the South Bend sheet metal cabinet stand. The machine is wired for 230Volt 3Phase electrics.
These Heavy 10 lathes were manufactured by South Bend from the 1930s through the 1990s. This lathe was built in the US and shows the typical features.
